    Welcome to the Academy!

    Location Innovation Academy offers at the moment 5 courses. The latest course, Location and AI: The Basics, is recommended to take as a whole and it includes a final test as well. It is only in English. Other courses are in English and in Spanish. You can learn them as a whole or concentrate only on modules that interest you most.

    The goal of these courses is to help both businesses and government agencies, particularly national mapping organizations, make the most of their existing geospatial platforms and create an ecosystem of generic services that can connect various datasets and services with geospatial data.

    The new Location & AI: The Basics is tailored to European directors, managers and consultants who wish to understand the business potential of GeoAI.

    Please register in the Academy, the system will first ask you some background information. All the courses are for free!

This course is aimed at directors, managers, leaders and consultants in Europe. You don't need to have prior experience or expertise on AI or Geospatial data - this course will guide you through both!

Welcome to the Course AI & Location – Practical Solutions’ Deep Dive

This is an advanced course for AI practitioners like data analysts, data scientists and developers in Europe.

Data Management

Acquire, process, distribute, use, maintain, and preserve spatial data. This course includes modules to improve your Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) skills and help develop your work. Modules also include resources, worked examples, standard specifications and best practices. Material is targeted at developers working for National Mapping & Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), statistical institutions and other agencies working with geospatial and statistical data.

This course comprises the following modules:

  • Metadata, Semantic Enrichment and EDP
  • Semantic and Organisational Interoperability
  • Data Quality Assurance
  • Data Quality Dashboards

Service Management

This course provides an overview of OGC API Standards and how they can be used to to enable geospatial interoperability on the web. 

The course includes several real-world use cases in addition to general overviews and technical descriptions. The learning materials are cumulative, so we recommend exploring them in order but if you feel confident, feel free to dive into one module or study them all!

This course comprises the following modules:

  • Common aspects of OGC API Standards
  • Data Access Standards
  • Other OGC API Standards

Data and Service Integration

This course covers integrating geospatial data and services on the web. It is aimed at developers working for National Mapping & Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), statistic institutions and other agencies working with spatial and statistical data. 
 
The course comprises the following modules:
  • Joining spatial and statistical data
  • Meteorological data integration
  • Applications of OGC APIs

Gestión de los servicios

En este curso se ofrece una visión completa de los estándares de las API de OGC y de cómo pueden utilizarse estas API para facilitar la interoperabilidad de los servicios geoespaciales.

El curso incluye varios casos de uso reales, además de descripciones generales y técnicas. Los materiales de aprendizaje son acumulativos, por lo que recomendamos explorarlos en el orden indicado. Pero si ya tienes unos conocimientos previos, entonces, ¡no dudes en sumergirte en un módulo solamente o estudiarlos todos!

Gestión de los datos

Adquirir, procesar, distribuir, publicar, utilizar, mantener y conservar los datos espaciales son algunas de las funciones que se realizan con los datos espaciales. En este curso incluye módulos que te ayudarán a mejorar las competencias relacionadas con las Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales (IDE) y a desarrollar cualquier trabajo cuyo objetivo sea la publicación interoperable y normalizada de la información geográfica. Los módulos incluyen contenido divulgativo, ejemplos, normas y algunas prácticas con código. 

El material está dirigido a desarrolladores que trabajen para Agencias Nacionales de Cartografía y de Catastro, instituciones estadísticas y otros organismos que trabajen con datos espaciales y estadísticos.

  • Datos abiertos y licencias
  • Metadatos, enriquecimiento semántico y procesamiento electrónico de datos (EDP)
  • Interoperabilidad semántica y organizativa
  • Garantía de calidad de los datos

Integración de Datos y Servicios

Las secciones de este curso se centran en la integración de datos y de los servicios como por ejemplo las API de OGC. El contenido de este curso está dirigido a desarrolladores que trabajen para Agencias Nacionales de Cartografía y de Catastro, instituciones estadísticas y otros organismos que trabajen con datos espaciales y estadísticos.
